What is Reflexology?
Reflexology, also known as zone therapy, is a natural healing art that has been practiced since ancient times. It is based on the principle that there are energy zones that run throughout the body, and reflexes in the feet and hands that correspond to all parts of the body. When a reflex is stimulated, a positive response is triggered through the nervous system. With the application of specific pressures and techniques, the body reaches a state of total relaxation, in which natural healing can occur. Reflexology complements any health care regimen. It is a gentle, natural hands-on approach which not only stimulates the body's self-healing abilities, but also boosts the immune system as a natural preventative. Reflexology is a natural stress-reliever and assists the body in managing pain and inflammation naturally.
●Prior to your very first reflexology session, a short health history and consent form will need to be completed. The reflexologist will review the forms with you and answer any questions or concerns that you may have at that time.
●You will need to remove your shoes and socks to allow the reflexologist to check your feet prior to working the reflexes.
●During your session, you will be lying on the massage table. The reflexologist will make sure that you are lying comfortably and will provide additional pillows and a comforter should you need them.
●A choice of soothing music will be played during each session, unless you prefer to have the session in silence.
●The reflexologist will begin each session with a gentle working of the head. Then, after the feet are gently cleansed with witch hazel, reflexes in the feet and hands will be thoroughly worked.
●As the session progresses, you should become increasingly relaxed. You will be encouraged to close your eyes and breathe deeply and slowly during your session to maximize the benefits.

How long is a reflexology session?
A full reflexology session takes about 60 minutes.
What is the cost of a session?
Each session costs $60.00; payment can be made by cash, cheque, Visa or Mastercard.
Is reflexology covered by extended health benefits?
More and more health insurance companies are recognizing the benefits of reflexology and some companies do currently offer some coverage. It is best to check with your own insurance provider to find out if you are covered.
Does reflexology hurt?
No. Pain does not heal. Do not hesitate, however, to let the reflexologist know if you experience any tenderness on your hands or feet during the session, as this may indicate that a reflex requires extra attention. Because of the firm, steady pressure used during a session, most people don’t find the touch ticklish.
How will I feel after a reflexology session?
Most people feel completely relaxed after a reflexology session. Some people may feel energized, while others may feel sleepy; everyone reacts slightly differently. Many people report feeling a decrease in aches, pains and general Inflammation after having reflexology.
